Cardboard CCTV Site-Specific Sculpture / Group Project, 2025 Project From 14 student maquettes, three were selected to be built at full scale—my cardboard CCTV camera was one of them. Installed on the university library’s second-floor balcony, the oversized, non-functional camera overlooks a busy courtyard, turning a study space into a reflection on surveillance culture and the trade-off between security and privacy. Role Designed and built the original hand-scale maquette selected by peers Converted the form into a 3-ft CAD model and zero-waste cardboard patterns Led a three-person fabrication team, adding internal ribbing and weather-sealed surfaces Engineered a concealed steel-strap mount for balcony installation Documented public interaction and collected feedback for critique Outcome Displayed for two weeks, featured in the student newspaper, and sparked campus discussion on digital privacy—demonstrating concept-driven design, large-scale cardboard construction, and team leadership.
